WHAT WE DO
South Carolina Apartment Association and its affiliates helps operators manage their businesses more effectively by creating a viable industry marketplace to raise influence with those who affect the rental housing industry. Additionally, we provide for public understanding and support of our industry. We want to ensure everyone can be provided with quality housing throughout South Carolina.
As you may have seen, the White House released a statementurging Congress to act swiftly and extend the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) federal eviction moratorium, scheduled to expire on July 31, through legislation.
Following the White House announcement, the National Apartment Association (NAA) released a statement in staunch opposition to any extension of the federal eviction order. At present, a bill to extend the moratorium is being developed on Capitol Hill and a vote is expected as soon as this evening.
NAA will continue to stand strong for its members and our industry. Further, NAA continues its new legal action against the federal government, seeking roughly $26 billion in damages for rental housing providers caused by the CDC’s unlawful order. We encourage you to learn more about this litigation.
